About Us

Rock Stone Counseling & Consulting staff have over 20 years of experience in mental health.  Our staff is motivated to help clients meet their goals for presenting life issues and concerns.  We strive to provide a caring, compassionate, respectful environment in a comfortable surrounding that fosters the healing process of therapy. 

 

We provide a non-judgmental approach in therapy, utilizing evidenced-based practices, Stress Management, Mood Management and Empowerment to increase one's sense of self-worth, mind/body connection and work life/balance integration. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively with our clients and the important people in their life to best serve individuals as they meet their life goals.  Our professional goal is to empower others to address and overcome current life challenges by gaining insight and awareness while building self-esteem, increasing confidence and creating a sense of well-being. We believe that emotional well-being is essential for each person to reach his or her fullest potential.  

It would be our privilege to provide a phone consultation to determine if one of our mental health professionals would be a good fit for you or to provide more information to other community resources. We are available for weekday evenings and weekend PRN appointments.

Anxiety

Anxiety is more than just feeling stressed or worried. While stress and anxious feelings are common responses to pressure, they usually pass once the stressful situation has passed, or ‘stressor’ is removed. Everyone feels anxious from time to time, but when it doesn't go away, happens without any particular reason or makes it hard to cope with daily life it may be the sign of an anxiety condition. 

Some common symptoms include:

  • Physical: panic attacks, hot and cold flushes, racing heart, tightening of the chest, quick breathing, restlessness, or feeling tense, wound up and edgy

  • Psychological: excessive fear, worry, catastrophizing, or obsessive thinking

  • Behavioral: avoidance of situations that make you feel anxious which can impact on study, work or social life

Depression

Depression impacts the way that you think, feel, and act. While it is normal to feel sad occasionally, intense sadness (including feeling helpless, hopeless, and worthless) that lasts for many days to weeks and keeps you from living your life, it may be depression.

​Some common symptoms include:

  • Persistent sadness or low mood. 

  • Marked loss of interest or pleasure in activities.

  • Disturbed sleep compared with your usual pattern. 

  • Change in appetite. 

  • Tiredness (fatigue), or loss of energy.

  • Agitation or slowing of movements.

  • Poor concentration or indecisiveness. 

  • Feelings of worthlessness, or excessive or inappropriate guilt.

  • Recurrent thoughts of death.

I In-Network Plans & Fees

  • Insurances currently accepted : Ambetter, AR & Fed BCBS, Qualchoice, Cigna, United Healthcare.

  • Cash-pay clients are welcome.

  • In the event a client is unable to keep an appointment, the client must notify the practice 24 hours in advance. If client fails to notify practice of cancellation, client will be charged a $30.00 cancellation fee.

  • Client is responsible for co-pay at time of service.
